Col. Clay Masonic Lodge #159 F&AM
Brethren all,
I wish to thank all who helped place flags at Linden Grove Cemetery for Memorial Day and then helped collect them the following Saturday. Thank you all, Brothers.
I trust all had a good Mothers Day. The Lodge dinner at Peppers was OK with a couple of small miscues, but the same basic crowd met for dinner. It’s the same ones all the time. It would be nice to see some new faces join us who are lodge members and even some new friends to partake of the fun, conversations, and fellowship.
June is here and so is Fathers Day. Enjoy it and keep those fathers in your prayers who have gone on, the one who signed your petition (whether he was a brother, uncle, grandfather, or a friend, who was a father). Our fathers should always be remembered all year long.
We will recognize and honor our widows at our annual Widows Dinner to be held at the Oriental Wok in Fort Mitchell on Saturday, June 21st. Please see the notice to the right for more details.
We have a very important day coming up: Saint John the Baptist Day. We will celebrate it publicly as a lodge on our Church Day, Sunday, June 22nd at Grace United Church of Christ. This is my home church since I`m the organist there. The congregation has welcomed us to be with them for their hour of service. The church is located at 429 Ft Henry Drive, Fort Wright, KY just off Amsterdam Road. We meet at 10:00 a.m. Coat and tie is the attire for the day, brothers. Take due notice and govern yourselves accordingly. We hope to see all who can make it there.
The Lodge was glad to hear at the last meeting that Bro. Charlie Meyers received his 65-Year Pin. That’s truly a very great accomplishment. Many may not even make 25 years for one reason another and to reach 50 years says much about how well you live, your genes and lifestyle. If any Brother is wondering how many years they have in the Lodge, give the Secretary a call, or just scan the QR code on the back of your new dues card.
May the Good Lord keep all safe. Always talk to Him, morning, noon and night.
Fraternally,
William O. Smith, Jr., P.M.
